I’m naturally found here in the UK and have been here for many thousands of years. This means I belong here and that I’ve already reached a balance with other species around me so that we can exist together. I wouldn’t be a threat to any other species if my numbers grew.
No, Lichens are slow growers and do not parasitise any tree or rock on which they grow. It does allow them to orientate towards the sun to benefit the photosynthetic partner though by latching onto a branch or twig!
