Question: How strong is the fen raft spider silk?

Fen Raft Spider answered on 23 Nov 2017:
Nobody is quite sure, as all of my different silks have not been tested for their strength like some other spider silks. But I make draglines, which are one of the strongest types of web, and use these to attach myself to surfaces and stop myself from falling off things and hurting myself.
I have loads of different uses for my silk, it protects my eggs, ties my food up, keeps me safe and when I am a spiderling (baby) I can even use it like a parachute to fly!
