Question: what is the latin name for the canadian goose
Asked by sophie1801 to Canada Goose on 21 Nov 2017.
answered on 21 Nov 2017:
Branta canadensis. This is on my profile already.
There sub-species as well B.c. canadensis, B.c. maxima, B.c. interior, B.c. moffitti, B.c. fulva, B.c. occidentalis and B.c.parvipes.
Branta refers to the goose type – Branta covers all ‘black’ goose species like Canada geese, Hawiian geese and Barnacle geese (Anser refers to ‘grey’ geese like greylag geese, white fronted geese).
Are these species collected from UK?
