Lichens have both a Fungus component and a Photosynthetic component (called the photobiont or phycobiont). These are referred to as lichenolous fungi. The fungal component, of which more than 1800 species have been described belong to the Ascomycota and Basidiomycota Order.
The photosynthetic component often belongs to the order Chlorococcales, Trebouxia and a few others. The Cyanobacterial part is often a Cyanobacteria and belongs to the order Proteobacterium.

This also shows you the under;ying complexity of Lichens!
